Chemicals peels are a type of exfoliation that is known to treat multiple conditions. These include dull, aging skin, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peels are highly acidic, and they loosen and remove dead skin cells. This makes it possible for skin that is newer and healthier to come to the surface. Facial chemical peels are effective in removing dead skin from your face. They can diminish wrinkles, lines and acne scars in a single treatment.
There are many different types of chemicals peels. They are differentiated by the depths they reach. These include very superficial, moderate, deep and superficial. The level of acidity also known as the ph, the duration the peel stays on the skin, and the strength or percentage of the peel are the three factors that determine the depth of the peel.
The chemical peels used in a day spa are superficial and very superficial. Estheticians are only able to work on the epidermis. The fact that they use superficial chemical peels does not mean that the treatment will not have results.
After the treatment your skin will look brighter, smoother and softer. Light chemical peels can have impressive results especially on middle to older customers who have not been exfoliating. They can have dramatic results on them.
They are also good for increasing cell turnover on acneic skin and unclogging pores. Light chemical peels are in most cases done in a series of four to six. The intervals are usually a week or two apart. Superficial chemicals may feel hot or tingle, but they do not need the downtime or healing required for moderate and deep peels.
