In addition to our 600 hour esthetician training program, we offer a wide array of continuing education classes that are suitable for those who are already licensed in the field of esthetics. It is important to keep yourself up to date on the latest techniques and to widen your knowledge base. If you completed your initial training in a more traditional esthetics program, but are now interested in adding a more holistic component to your practice, then the School of Botanical Aesthetics courses might be a great way to expand your horizons.
On April 27, 2013, School of Botanical Aesthetics will be offering an all day class that includes an introduction to some of the toxic ingredients that are found in many common skin care products. This class will also include a product making component. You will learn how to make a cleanser, mask and a hydrating mist.
Labels on skin care products can often be misleading. For instance, 98% of the ingredients can be organic, but there still might be 2% that are considered toxic. Oftentimes, ingredients that are included in blends or fragrances aren’t even listed on the container, many of which have been shown to cause allergic reactions, even cancer. In order to take all the guess work out of deciding which products are truly organic and made from herbal ingredients, it helps to be able to make your own products.
We’ll meet from 9a – 6p. The cost is $75 and includes ingredients to make your own products.
