Dermaplane FAQs
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation method that uses a sterile surgical blade to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair, also known as peach fuzz, from the skin’s surface. This procedure enhances skin texture, increases brightness, improves the absorption of skincare products, and provides a smooth base for additional treatments.
Do I need prior experience with dermaplaning?
No prior dermaplaning experience is required. The course covers basic theory, safety, and technique, making it ideal for improving skills.
Will hair grow back thicker or darker after dermaplaning?
No. Dermaplaning does not alter hair color, thickness, or growth rate. Vellus hair regrows unchanged.
Does this course align with Colorado’s scope of practice laws?
Yes. All instruction emphasizes working within the scope of practice, prioritizing safety, professionalism, and responsible treatment planning.
Will I receive a certification upon completion?
Yes. Upon successfully completing the course, students receive a state-approved Dermaplaning Certification, confirming advanced training in dermaplaning treatments. They do not replace state or national licensure.
Do I have to receive a Dermaplane treatment during my training?
No, if you don’t want to receive a dermaplane as part of your training, models will be provided if needed.
