Benefits of Dry Shampoo and DIY Recipe

Don’t have time to take a shower? Trying to conserve water? Don’t want to over-wash and dry out your hair? Dry shampoo is for you!

Dry shampoo is a sort of shower substitute for your hair. It comes in the form of a spray or powder that cleanses hair with oil absorbers, like starch, and volumizes with ingredients like silica, and makes a quick, easy, and effective replacement for a shower.

Here are a few reasons why you should try dry shampoo:

It replaces a wash.

If you don’t have time for hair washing in the shower, or don’t have time for a shower at all, dry shampoo soaks up the oil in your hair and gets rid of that greasy look. It also adds a fresh scent, so you don’t have to worry about skipping the shampoo that day. Spray, brush, and you can be out the door.

It volumizes.

The clays and silicas found in dry shampoos act as super volumizers, fluffing up your limpest strands. Even if your hair isn’t flat, dry shampoo can give it that added boost of volume for bouncy locks.

It makes your style last.

Instead of washing out your blowout or curls with a shower, spray a little dry shampoo on your roots and voila! Clean looking hair and a style that will last another few days! An added bonus is that you will be using hot tools less, since your style lasts longer. That means healthier, happier hair.

It makes color last longer.

With each shampoo, any color you have in your hair is fading. By using dry shampoo to replace some of your showers, you are saving your color – and money.

It can be used any time.

Any time you feel like your hair needs a boost, dry shampoo is there and gets the job done in just a few seconds. One of the best times to apply dry shampoo is before bed; your hair will absorb it while you sleep, giving your hair a fresh, clean look when you wake up.

If you want to avoid the chemicals in store-bought dry shampoos, try these all-natural DIY dry shampoo recipes for equally awesome results:
