Egg White Face Mask

Regardless of the season, your skin can always benefit from a little extra attention. Face masks are a great way to address a number of skin issues, from dryness, to acne, to redness or irritation. Now that the temperatures are warming up and your skin is coming out of winter hibernation, it is the perfect time to refresh your face!

In the spirit of spring, Easter, and egg hunting, here are several skin care face masks that include an ingredient you probably have in your refrigerator – egg whites. Egg whites are high in collagen, vitamin A, and 69 different proteins, all of which help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, maintain elasticity, reduce redness, irritation, and acne, reduce the appearance of large pores, and give your skin’s complexion a healthy glow.

Radiant Skin Mask

This easy face mask takes just a few minutes to prepare and will leave you with a nourished, radiant glow. Take one egg white and whisk until foamy. Apply on freshly cleansed skin and let sit for 15 minutes. Gently rinse off with warm water.

Acne-Prone Skin Mask

If you suffer from breakouts or greasy skin, this mask is for you. The egg white helps reduce the oil on your face by shrinking your pores, while the lemon gently exfoliates and brightens your skin. Beat one egg white until foamy; add the juice of half a lemon and mix. Apply to your face, avoiding the eye area. Let sit for 30 minutes and rinse with warm water. Apply a moisturizer afterwards that is suitable for oily skin.

Dry Skin Mask

This egg white and avocado mask with nourish and hydrate your skin – exactly what your skin needs after the harsh winter months. Beat one egg white until frothy. Mash ¼ an avocado and add it to the egg white along with one teaspoon milk and one teaspoon honey. Apply to your face and leave on for 15 minutes; rinse with warm water.

Irritation Reducing Mask

This mask is perfect if you have a sunburn, rosacea, or other uncomfortable redness. Beat one egg white until frothy; mix in one teaspoon honey and one teaspoon fresh yogurt. For an extra refreshing boost that will also help reduce dark circles, add one teaspoon cucumber juice (grate enough cucumber to squeeze the juice out). Apply to your face and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Exfoliating Skin Mask

Exfoliation is extremely important for the health and appearance of your skin. This mask hydrates as well as gently exfoliates, and is suitable for all skin types. Beat one egg white until foamy and add one teaspoon honey and one teaspoon oatmeal. Mix well and apply to your face; let sit for 20 minutes before gently rinsing off with warm water.
