Gingerbread Body Scrub Recipe

Gingerbread is one of the holiday staples, whether it comes in the form of a house, cookies, or coffee. For all you gingerbread lovers out there, spread the love this holiday season with this easy DIY recipe! 6 ingredients and a few minutes are all you need to whip up a batch of this all-natural Gingerbread Body Scrub. It’s delicious aroma is a holiday in a jar, with the added bonus of health benefits such as anti-inflammatory, skin soothing properties. The smell of ginger can also help treat symptoms of nausea.

This scrub offers gentle exfoliation that will help slough off any unwanted rough, dry patches of skin, leaving you soft, supple, and glowing. If you or your loved ones have sensitive skin, this scrub is perfect for you. And it’s almost good enough to eat – you can if you want, but then you won’t have anything left for gift giving!

For a larger batch, this recipe is easily expanded.


1 cup dark brown sugar*

¼ cup solid coconut oil

1 tablespoon molasses

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon dried ground ginger

1/3 teaspoon dried ground cloves

1 16 oz. glass jar

Combine sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves in a large bowl. Add coconut oil and molasses and stir well to combine (your hands may be the best tool for this). Store in a glass jar and keep at room temperature. This scrub will be good for years, if it lasts that long!

*If you don’t have sensitive skin and feel you need a stronger exfoliation, you can substitute the brown sugar with coconut sugar. Due to its coarser texture, it will give you a slightly rougher exfoliation.

To use: Apply scrub on wet skin; gentle rub in circular motions for all-over exfoliation. Rinse off completely and enjoy silky smooth skin!
