The Course

In order to offer Microdermabrasion for your clients, an esthetician or cosmetologist in Colorado is required to take a Microdermabrasion course from a state approved esthetician school.

The Focus of the Microdermabrasion Course is to provide an in-depth study of the science and techniques utilized in this advanced exfoliation technique, with a conscious effort to ensure utilizing this modality within the scope of practice of an Esthetician in the State of Colorado.

Honing in on the benefits and contraindications of Microdermabrasion, you will learn the proper techniques, best tools, and products as well as a comprehensive treatment plan to be able to confidently educate and perform microdermabrasion on your clients.

Upon completion of the Microdermabrasion Course for estheticians, at the School of Botanical and Medical Aesthetics, you will earn a 14-hour certificate.

Microdermabrasion is an effective, non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that leaves the complexion looking smoother, feeling softer, and glowing brighter.

This skin resurfacing process involves gently sanding away the epidermis layer of dead skin cells, leaving it supple and vibrant. This is used by a small handheld instrument with a diamond-tipped head to exfoliate the skin. It also stimulates collagen and elastin below the surface of the skin, which in turn is inspired to plump up the skin, as well as contributing to the following:

  • Sun and age spots
  • Dull skin
  • Clogged pores
  • Open and closed comedones
  • Uneven coloration
  • Acne scars
  • Improve overall skin health and texture
  • Lines and wrinkles
