1. Olive Oil
Almost every one has olive oil in their cupboard. This is a versatile cure that softens all areas of dry skin – from your cuticles to your elbows and your hands. Use a thin layer of olive oil under your moisturizer to create an extra layer of conditioner.
2. Yogurt, Papaya and Pumpkin
These all act as gentle exfoliants and cleansers. They remove dry skin gently without using harsh scrubs with granules.
3. Sugar and Oil
Combine sugar and any kind of oil to make a mild, homemade skin rub. Use equal amounts of sugar and oil and rub on your face using gentle, circular motions. For added vitamins, include honey and lemon juice.
4. Honey
Honey is a cure for cracked lips, heels and elbows. Put a dab on your lips at night and wake up with soft, smooth lips.
5. Diet
As always, what you put in your body is just as important as what you put on your body. Be sure to include magnesium, essential fatty acids, Vitamin C and betocarotene and your skin will be less likely to dry out. Some food to include regularly in your diet are dark chocolate, salmon, oranges, mangoes and carrots.
